The information collected from the GP patient survey is regarding patients experience when contacting the surgery, how quickly the patients are able to see a GP, how helpful the reception staff are, time scale of seeing the GP of their choice and how they rate the surgery opening hours.

2015 / 16

Patient survey carried out and verbal communication confirmed that patients would like an early morning surgery rather than the late night extended hours that we provided, so we implemented this in October 2012. We monitored this through patient surveys and patients seemed to prefer early morning surgeries rather than late night surgeries so we have continued with this service. However due to the popularity of the early morning appointments the GP extended his clinic to start at 7.15am as opposed to 8am. The practice nurse also amended her clinic times to start at 7.15am this offers flexibility for patients to be able to attend before their working day commences.

Patient survey carried out previously this year showed that the majority of our patients are satisfied with the service we provide. A small number stated that they would like to see the GP / Practice Nurse at a later appointment. We provide later appointments for both the GP and the practice nurse and also provide a service where we can arrange for our patients to be seen at Blaydon Primary Care Centre later in the evening and weekend for those who work.

2016/2017

GP Patient Survey carried out recently shows the following results

What the practice does best:

  • 99% of respondents find it easy to get through to the surgery by telephone
  • 81% of respondents with preferred GP usually get to see or speak to that GP
  • 93% of respondents descrive their experience of making an appoitment as good
  • 79% of respondents say the last nurse they saw or spoke to was good at involving them in decisions about their care
  • 83% of respondents say the last GP they saw or spoke to was good at explaining tests and treatments
  • 89% of respondents say the last nurse they saw or spoke to was good at giving them enough time.
